TL;DR

Viewers: open extension → identify with Twitch if asked → choose action → spend points → have fun!

Streamers: install the three parts → start Minecraft → start Dashboard → connect Twitch → verify status → have fun!

What it is

MC-TWTH connects your Minecraft world with your Twitch stream so viewers can spend points to trigger actions in Minecraft. The streamer stays fully in control of what's enabled, what it costs, and how often it can happen.

Most crowd control tools take a cut of the streamer's Bits or other revenue. MC-TWTH doesn't -- it's a one-time upfront purchase instead, which also lets the streamer use other avenues for granting points to viewers besides just bits.

Action triggers: a viewer can trigger an action directly by spending points, or the whole chat can vote together on the next action through a poll. Multiplayer support: MC-TWTH supports multiplayer games hosted through LAN or WLAN. Only the host/streamer needs to have the mod installed and the dashboard running.

The three pieces

Dashboard -- streamer control center for Twitch, Minecraft, actions, points, rewards, polls, locks, and status.

Twitch extension -- viewer-facing action menu, point balance, costs, cooldown state, and availability.

Minecraft mod -- receives approved actions and executes them inside Minecraft.

Both the Dashboard and the Twitch extension support light and dark themes.

For viewers

Using the extension

  1. Open the MC-TWTH extension on the stream.
  2. Share your Twitch identity if Twitch asks.
  3. Choose an enabled action and check its point cost.
  4. Spend points to trigger it.
  5. Watch Minecraft react (and the streamer panic :P).

Points are your personal MC-TWTH balance. The streamer decides how viewers earn them, such as through subscriptions, gifted subs, raids, Bits, or configured Channel Points rewards.

Polls: sometimes the streamer runs a poll instead of direct spending -- vote for your favorite action, and the winner fires automatically for everyone, free of charge.

Action holds: viewers cannot trigger actions while the streamer app is offline, Minecraft is not ready, the streamer has locked actions, or the action is on a cooldown.

For streamers

Before you go live

  1. Start Minecraft: Java Edition with the MC-TWTH mod (Fabric mod loader & Fabric API) installed.
  2. Start the MC-TWTH Dashboard and connect Twitch.
  3. Confirm Twitch, Minecraft, and Database all show as connected.
  4. Load the world.
  5. Brace yourself for chaos. :P

The Dashboard is where you control actions, prices, cooldowns, points, Channel Points rewards, polls, locks, and activity.

Keep the Dashboard running while live. The viewer extension relies on the streamer app being online.

Multiplayer

MC-TWTH works on multiplayer worlds. Only the streamer needs the mod installed and the Dashboard running -- everyone else just plays normally.

The streamer also controls whether actions target only themselves or everyone on the server.

Actions & points

Actions

Each action can be enabled or disabled, given a point cost, viewer/global cooldowns, and marked poll-eligible. Only enabled actions appear to viewers.

Viewer cooldowns apply to the viewer who triggered the action.
Global cooldowns apply to everyone after an action is triggered.

Earning points

The streamer decides exactly how viewers earn points: how many points for cheering Bits, subscribing, gifting subs, or raiding in, plus optional Channel Points → MC-TWTH points rewards.

Those rewards can have their own global limit per stream, a limit per user per stream, and a cooldown -- all configurable through the dashboard app.

Streamer controls

All of this works live, mid-stream, with no restart needed:

  • Disable any single action, or lock all actions at once.
  • Manually trigger a poll any time.
  • Clear cooldowns for one or all actions.

If something misfires: you can refund the points the action charged, refire the action itself, or just award points to viewers who missed out.

Polls

MC-TWTH can create Twitch polls that let viewers choose the next action. Polls can run automatically on a streamer-set interval, or be started manually at any time.

The streamer controls the interval between automatic polls, how many actions per poll, and how long each poll lasts.

Only actions that are enabled and poll-eligible can appear. A winning action fires as a streamer-controlled action, so it does not charge a viewer.

Limitations

  • Linux & Windows -- no Mac support right now. I'll add it if enough people ask for it.
  • Minecraft: Java Edition, Fabric only -- no Bedrock, and no other mod loaders yet. I cannot add bedrock support, but if people need another mod loader, I'll support it.
  • Points award in steps of 10, and a Channel Points rewards always includes one forced extra point i.e. setting a reward to 100 forces it to 101.

(Planned fix in the next update)

  • There's currently no way to disable the app's Twitch chat messages or the in-game mod chat messages.

(Planned fix in the next update)

  • The app occasionally needs reauthentication, which can break existing Channel Points rewards. If that happens: refund anyone who missed out, delete the redeem, and re-add it.

(Planned fix in the next update)

The default action catalog MC-TWTH ships with, for reference.

Costs, cooldowns, and poll eligibility are all configurable by the streamer, so they aren't listed here.
